Repo! The Genetic Opera
We know a lot of you guys dug the hell out of Repo!, so we were very happy to hear that the star and co-creater of Repo! The Genetic Opera has released never-before-sold artwork from the movie to celebrate the release of his new online store.
If you've never seen Repo! The Genetic Opera screened with a shadowcast, then you've been missing out. But if you're in or around the LA area, tonight you have a chance to not only see it with one of the best shadowcasts around, "Addicted to the Knife", but also watch it with Paul Sorvino (who's never attended a shadowcast performance before) and several other members of the film's cast and crew.
Cult favorite Repo! The Genetic Opera returns to the San Diego Comic-Con with a late night showing on Saturday, July 24th, along with a new never-before-seen lesson from "The Tutor", Terrance Zdunich (GraveRobber from Repo!)'s online serial killer art course.
While doing some early publicity interviews for his work on the upcoming Mother's Day, director Darren Bousman has also been dealing with a little bit of a sticky situation.
About a month or so back, Dread Central reviewed the first issue of Repo! co-creator Terrance Zdunich's newest endeavor, The Molting: Guilty Susie (review here). Zdunich and Susie are both back for the second installment of The Molting called "Chapter Two: The Happiest Place on Earth", and we've got an exclusive look for all you fiends.
Most people are familiar with Terrance Zdunich the singer and actor due to his heart palpitation-inducing performance as Graverobber in Repo! The Genetic Opera. On September 15th, the world will finally get the chance to know Terrance the artist a little bit better. That’s when “Guilty Susie,” the first chapter in his new comic series The Molting, will be released.
Unless you've been living under a rock, the odds are pretty good that you've either heard of, watched, sang along with, or taken part in a shadowcast for Repo! The Genetic Opera (review here). The little movie that Lionsgate had absolutely no faith in has taken on a life of its own and has quickly become a bit of an enigma.
For me this year was (and still is) "The Year of REPO".
So last night I attended the Repo screening here at Comic Con. It was a packed show and on top of that they agreed to let me stream the whole thing LIVE. With only 45 minutes advanced notice the performance managed to pick up over 900 viewers online! Not only was there members of the cast on hand but it was also the final performance to be filmed for Spooky Dan's Repo documentary. Check it out below!
A couple of updates came through via Twitter today from director Darren Bousman and mad creator Gris Grimly.
Usually when you talk about a David and Goliath story in Hollywood, it’s about a small independent movie getting its big break or an up-and-coming director getting hired for a huge project.
Despite what most of the mainstream media had to say about it, Repo! The Genetic Opera keeps plugging away and taking on a life all its own! So what happened? Has the world gone mad, or did the planets align just right? Let's take a look!
Still haven't experienced the madness that is Repo! The Genetic Opera live with an audience? What the hell are you waiting for? New engagements have been added! Get busy on your costumes!
As expected, the countrywide special screenings of Darren Bousman's Repo! The Genetic Opera have been turning into some pretty trippy events, man!
Before his stellar Twilight: The Puppet Saga, Spooky Dan and the gang including Tammy Sutton, Brian Lopiano, Tom Zimmerman, Elissa Dowling, and Micah Galo gave the puppet treatment to Darren Bousman's Repo! The Genetic Opera. Get ready to become addicted to the ... string?
