It seems there are more movies coming out this Halloween season that I’ve not heard hide nor hair of before. All off a sudden they have posters, trailers, interactive games, etc. Am I just unobservant or are these movies creeping up on us?
Word just came down from indie director Marc Selz that his latest contribution to our genre, Satanic Panic, is preparing for its world premiere screening in the small Illinois town of Wheeling. Since not much usually happens in the Midwest (I know, I used to live there), we’ve got to be sure we let you know when something finally does!
One can’t help but wonder about the myriad of problems Screen Gems has with the upcoming Dennis Quaid apocalypse movie Legion. The other day it was announced the film wouldn’t see the light of projectors until January 22nd, 2010, even though it's been done for months. Co-star Yancey Arias doesn’t feel there’s anything wrong with it at all, however.
Before you commit too much eyeball time to this story, just know there’s nothing new in terms of where Red State is at production-wise, just a very interesting viewpoint from its director, Kevin Smith.
Because we do so love the indie scene round these parts and always strive to encourage those who we know to kick ass to continue doing so, I thought it only made sense to hip you guys to the teaser for a film called Body in a Dumpster, which just reared its twisted head today.
For some reason no one out there wants to give Maurice Devereaux what he needs in order to secure a U.S. release for his urban apocalypse horror film End of the Line (review).
Finally, some casting has taken place for Lars Von Trier’s long-gestating Anitchrist, and it’s good enough to make it more than worth the wait. Variety reports that Willem Dafoe (pictured) and Charlotte Gainsbourg (I’m Not There) have signed on for the film.
Just got a heads up from the folks at Dark Sky Films that Ti West’s 80’s-era House of the Devil has officially wrapped! Wow seems like just the other day we were putting up a story about it being announced…
Just like our extensive and exhausting (on our side, at least) coverage from last year (read it all right here), we’re compiling as much info as we can for the horror offerings at this year’s Tribeca Film Festival, going down in N
Oh, man, talk about a suck situation to be in. Fox Atomic just picked up the rights to Kathryn Mackel’s The Surrogate according to this morning’s Variety, and it’s going to make some couples think really hard about how badly they want to procreate...
Well, we still don’t really know a lot about Lars Von Trier’s Antichrist, despite having been reporting on it for over a year now, but at least we know it’s shooting in Germany this summer!
It could be one of the best titles in movie history: Satan Hates You, a project that’s been in one stage of production or another for almost four years now. We’ve seen it around here and there, but not until reader “Aaron” dropped us a line telling us to check it out, did I make an effort to really look into it. Glad I did!
More good casting news came down today for Ti West’s upcoming House of the Devil, which is currently in front of cameras.
Towards the end of our most recent Dinner for Fiends (hear it here), I managed to squeeze some info out of our guest star, A.J. Bowen (pictured, sans beard, from his latest film Maidenhead), about his upcoming role in Ti West’s House of the Devil, a movie he seems very happy to be doing.
The news/rumors about Lars Von Trier's Antichrist project have been coming and going for about two years now with no real solid evidence that the film would ever enter production (“The Antichrist to Rise?” – December 2007). Usually any news about it would be met with a grain of salt, but this time there's actually something to smile about.
