Former WWE Diva Maria Kanellis Grapples With the Purple Plague

When I was forwarded this news item I wasn’t exactly what to make of it. In fact, I’m still not 100% sure what it is. At first I thought it was a web series but there’s constant mention of a joint cd/DVD release later this year. Whatever The Purple Plague is, it’s hyper-stylized and features ex-WWE diva Maria Kanellis battling zombies.
Here’s the rest of the info I could find on The Purple Plague from the official website of Humboldt Storms.
Maria Kanellis of Playboy, Celebrity Apprentice and WWE Diva fame stars as Lady Jane in “The Purple Plague”. Chapter one of the movie will be found on Humboldt Storms Vol. 2 cd/dvd released October 2011. The Purple Plague is being filmed and produced in a new cutting edge style that is an explosive mixture of animation and live action, twisted in a way that makes it a mind-blowing assult on the visual senses!
I’m not at all familair with Humboldt Storms so forgive me if I’m a little out of the musical loop on this one. Here’s some more info that explains the concept a bit more.
Five years in the making, Vol. 2, “The Purple Plague” has exclusive features from some of the biggest industry names of today matched with some of Humboldt’s top vocalists and producers following the formula found on Vol. 1, “Torrential.” The music found on Vol. 2 takes you further behind the redwood curtain and explores its culture on a variety of levels from the perspective of artists that live and create in the one and only Humboldt County. The DVD portion features the first chapter of “The Purple Plague” movie starring Maria Kanellis as the lead character, Lady Jane.
