It seems many of us are still catching up on all the 2023 horror movies we missed. According to the charts, quite a few streamers are benefitting from that this week as we are crossing these terrifying titles off our lists as soon as they hit the apps.

For instance, Dark Harvest recently broke into the Prime Video Top #10 chart. If you thought Cobweb was the only fall-coded film of last year, you are dead wrong. Check out the synopsis and trailer for this vicious film filled with autumn vibes.

In the film,

Dark Harvest is a chilling tale set in a cursed town, where every Halloween becomes a brutal battle for survival. During the fall of 1963, the terrifying legend Sawtooth Jack rises from the cornfields and makes its way toward town, where gangs of eighteen-year-old boys stand ready to slaughter the murderous scarecrow before midnight.

Among the boys is Richie, a rebellious outcast yearning to break free from the town’s curse, driven by his brother’s victory the year before. As the hunt progresses, secrets are revealed, leading Richie to a shocking discovery and a fateful decision that could break the vicious cycle once and for all.”

Dark Harvest is directed by David Slade and written by Michael Gilio. The movie is based on a book of the same name by Norman Partridge. The film stars Casey Likes, E’myri Crutchfield, Dustin Ceithamer, Elizabeth Reaser, and Jeremy Davies.

David Slade is the director responsible for Hard Candy30 Days of Night, and Black Mirror: Bandersnatch. Which might explain why this movie goes so hard.

Dread Central’s Tyler Doupe’ loved the film in his review, saying, Dark Harvest is a visually striking affair that serves up a relentless antagonist, some brutal gore effects, and a suspenseful storyline.”
