With the upcoming adaptation of 300 blowing the minds of all those who see it, I think it’s safe to say that director Zack Snyder is here to stay. After remaking Dawn of the Dead and impressing more people than it pissed off (no small feat, that), there was some concern he might be done with our genre.
With cameras ready to roll on the long-awaited new version of Richard Matheson’s I Am Legend, casting rumors are swirling in force around the production. Though it was initially mentioned shortly after the announcement of Will Smith in the lead that Johnny Depp would have a role in the apocalypse saga as well, it turns out that was all blown smoke.
I guess it’s only fitting, considering how long it took the latest adaptation of Richard Matheson’s classic novel to get to the big screen, that it should take its dear sweet time getting done.
