Post-Apocalyptic

Some more casting is close to happening on the Ruben Fleischer horror/comedy Zombieland, which you may recall is set to star Woody Harrelson as half of a pair of survivors of a zombie apocalypse who finds “friendship and redemption” in the new world order, according to THR.

Not much more to say. Warner Bros. sent out the official teaser poster for Terminator Salvation today after it made its world premiere at last weekend’s Comic Con. Simple, yet badass; I like it! The fourth Terminatorfilm hits theaters on May 9th, 2009, so expect plenty of stuff for it between now and then!

Funny how you may not even be aware how much you’ve been waiting for something until it finally happens. Case in point, Marvel’s recently announced comic translation of Stephen King’s epic end-of-the-world novel, The Stand.

I don't get why one would miss out on the chance to play what could be an iconic character in a new franchise just so one could be in a French comedy. So I guess it's good I'm not Charlotte Gainsbourg, eh?

I'm no fan of Nicolas Cage, everyone who reads the site on a consistent basis knows this, but I am a fan of The Crow and Dark City director Alex Proyas, so I will give him the benefit of the doubt for his latest film, Knowing, which Cage stars in. You gotta take the good with the bad, right?

I still have yet to discover the phenomenon of Cormac McCarthy's The Road first-hand, though I do have every intention of reading it before the movie is out later this year. If you're curious, you can get The Road through Evilshop here.

An official production blog has opened for McG's Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins, the fourth film in the incredibly popular series and the first of three new planned Terminator films. The oddly-named director seems to have a pretty good grasp on how to do this one right ... or at least what the kids want to hear.

Last year’s New York Comic Con featured a great public appearance by Stephen King, a hero of mine since my younger days. I wrote all about the appearance after the show (read it here), and one of the coolest bits of news that came from it was that Marvel was discussing a comic adaptation of King’s seminal end-of-the world epic, The Stand.

Warner Home Video has announced the DVD release date and specs for I Am Legend (review), the long awaited but somewhat disappointing latest adaptation of the Richard Matheson novel of the same name. If it only weren’t for all those damn CG beasts, it could’ve been a lot creepier…
