While I remain convinced that the now defunct Hellraiser remake with director Patrick Lussier and writer Todd Farmer would've been a good thing for the series (those guys are always attempting to tackle a remake differently, rather than retread familiar territory), I'm not so sure I can say the same for these Cenobite designs.

It's hard to imagine anyone but the great Doug Bradley in the make-up as the iconic Pinhead, but like it or not, it is happening. Replacing Bradley is actor Stephan Smith Collins, and we've got your first look at him in character.

We've been waiting endlessly for the great Clive Barker to finish up the final chapter in his literary Hellraiser saga, The Scarlet Gospels, which finds Pinhead going one-on-one with Harry D'Amour, and now finally ... there's light at the end of the tunnel.

Just how bad were the last few Hellraiser sequels? I ask because the absolute last straw for me was the one in which Dean Winters fell victim to an inexplicably malicious Kirsty Cotton.

With nearly every horror franchise receiving the documentary treatment these days, it's not surprising that Hellraiser is among them. Today, we've got some early details for you on behind-the-camera talent.

Oh, man, this is just sad. Gary Tunnicliffe is one of the best FX guys in the business. If anyone’s going to take on a new Pinhead design, I’d be happy with what he could come up with, especially since he worked on the design for the last few direct-to-DVD entries. Even though his phone never rang when Dimension started planning their Hellraiser remake, that didn’t stop him from trying!
