Trailer for Mind-Bending Game Scarlet Nexus Shows Psychic Samurai Fighting Flowers

Yesterday Bandai Namco Entertainment announced their upcoming game Scarlet Nexus. Created by the same developers of Tales of Vesperia, the aim with this title is to “ change the way gamers view Japanese RPGs with a powerful futuristic aesthetic as well as a streamlined combat system.” The trailer for Scarlet Nexus certainly shows that they are right on the money with that goal.
The trailer begins with a cyberpunk world and quickly delves into a genre far different. Scarlet Nexus is about strange creatures that cannot be harmed by conventional weapons, and the psionic soldiers who fight them. The protagonist is a man named Yuito Sumeragi, a man with psycho-kinesis and a big katana. The creatures, known as the Others, “descend from the sky with a hunger for human brains.” Yuito is recruited to be a part of the Other Suppression Force, and is seen fighting the Others with swordplay and by throwing entire metro trains at them. The whole trailer is very reminiscent of Neon Genesis: Evangelion, and looks incredibly dope.
Scarlet Nexus will be released on the Xbox Series X and Playstation 5, as well as current gen consoles and Steam. There is no release date yet, but you can check out the Bandai Namco website for more information about this title.
