New Stephen King / Adrien Brody Series CHAPELWAITE Gets Spooky-Ass Poster

The Stand and The Shining author Stephen King’s short story Jerusalem’s Lot is headed to the small screen. Epix’s 10-episode show Chapelwaite with Adrien Brody and Emily Hampshire (Schitt’s Creek) just unleashed its first spooky-ass teaser poster.

Check it out below.

Hampshire (12 Monkeys) stars as Rebecca Morgan. She’s an ambitious young woman who left Preacher’s Corners to attend Mount Holyoke College. Now she has returned home with an advance to write a story for the new and prestigious Atlantic Magazine.

Her writer’s block lifts when Boone (Brody) arrives in town with his children. And despite her mother’s protests, Rebecca applies to be the governess of the infamous Chapelwaite manor and the Boone family. In doing so, Rebecca not only crafts the next great gothic novel, she unravels a mystery that’s plagued her family for years.

Here’s another synopsis if you need it.

The series is set in the 1850s and follows Captain Charles Boone (Brody), who relocates his family of three children to his ancestral home in the small, seemingly sleepy town of Preacher’s Corners, Maine after his wife dies at sea. However, Charles will soon have to confront the secrets of his family’s sordid history and fight to end the darkness that has plagued the Boones for generations.

Flatliners and Salem’s Lot writer Peter Filardi will pen the series with his brother Jason Filardi (17 Again, Bringing Down the House). The Filardi brothers will serve as showrunners and executive produce with Donald De Line. Production began in April in Halifax, Nova Scotia. It might (possible) premiere in 2021.

Hampshire shared a pic on Instagram last year. She writes “So a lot of people have been asking why I wasn’t at the Emmys with my Schitts Creek family. The real reason is: because it took me soooooo long to get out of this corset and jaunty hat that I missed my time travel flight there. The good news is I’m not in 2020 & my new show is based on a Stephen King story so… there was still a little Stevie with me here…

Epix President Michael Wright says: “This series is an intense, absolutely terrifying reimagining of classic gothic horror. We can’t wait to work with the exceptional team of Donald De Line and Jason and Peter Filardi, along with our phenomenal lead actor, Adrien Brody…and of course, when it comes to horror, it doesn’t get any better or more masterful than Stephen King.”
