Now that it's shattered a few records, officially became the Saw killer, and scared the shit out of most of its viewers, the only thing left for Paranormal Activity to do is come home in a really good DVD and Blu-ray package.

Paranormal Activity
Time Again to Help the People Choose Correctly
2009 is starting to wind down so of course that means it's time for all the various awards shows to begin rearing their heads. First up -- The People's Choice Awards, which (even discounting the predictable numerous mentions of Twilight) have a pretty healthy array of genre nominees.

Paranormal Activity’s International Sales Company, IM Global, Rolls Out Theatrical Arm
The unprecedented success of Paranormal Activity has been beneficial for many people, but one could argue that IM Global is reaping the most rewards. Hot off the success of Oren Peli’s haunting flick, IM Global Home Entertainment has been forged to focus on lower budgeted theatrical fare.

More Paranormal Activity Sequel Talk
Wanna talk scary? Never mind being haunted by a demonic force that will corner you wherever you are. We're talking real horror that could come in the form of a completely unnecessary sequel.

Editorial: Paranormal Activity Shadows The Blair Witch
When filmmakers Daniel Myrick and Eduardo Sánchez wrote and directed The Blair Witch Project, which debuted in theaters ten years ago this past summer, they ushered in a sub-genre of filmmaking that was part reliant on the power of suggestion, part pre-reality TV, and part old-fashioned exploitation fright film.

If It's Halloween... It Might Not Be Saw Anymore!
"It's it's Halloween... It must be Saw!" is how Lionsgate has touted the latest sequels in the Saw franchise the past few years. They might need a new tagline when Saw VII in 3D comes out next year. This year, if it's Halloween... It must be Paranormal Activity. And a concert film starring a freaky looking dead guy. Not to mention Law Abiding Citizen and Couples Retreat, both of which easily outgrossed Saw VI.

Para-Knockers Activity Prepares to Go Hump in the Night
Fitting that this film be announced during Breast Cancer Awareness Month because if there is one man who is keenly aware of breasts, it would be Jim Wynorski. Having given us such horror-inspired softcore sex spoofs as The Witches of Breastwick, The Bare Wench Project, The Breastford Wives, and Cleavagefield, Wynorski is now setting his sights on a current horror hit with Para-Knockers Activity.

UPDATED: Weekend Box Office: Saw VI Falls Victim to Paranormal Activity; Paramount Hints at PA2
While it's true that in most cases people root for the underdog, it's still a bit hard to believe how dramatically Paranormal Activity toppled reigning October box office champ Saw's sixth installment. But numbers don't lie, and although Saw VI is considered by many (including yours truly) to be the best entry in the series in quite some time, it still wasn't enough to stop the little juggernaut that could, Oren Peli's Paranormal Activity.
