Not to be confused with the superbadass indie flick Evidence we've been talking about recently, another cinéma-vérité style found footage fright flick of the same name is on its way.

With the announcement of the pulling of the plug yesterday on Roland Emmerich's found footage flick, The Zone, Warner Brothers found themselves being a little gun shy with the production of The Fourth Kind director Olatunde Osunsanmi latest cinéma-vérité opus, Dark Moon. Good thing for him that Dark Castle is looking to salvage the project from oblivion.

The director of The Fourth Kind is at it again with a new feature film concerning an interesting and nasty bit of found footage. Get ready to gaze in horror at Olatunde Osunsanmi's Dark Moon. Why can't I stop lauging after writing that? Why?!?!?

The Fourth Kind is coming to Blu-ray and DVD on March 16th; and Dread Central, in conjunction with Universal Studios Home Entertainment, is offering one lucky reader a Flip Cam to document his or her own alien encounters and sightings!

Did you miss The Fourth Kind in theatres? Too bad. Yes, it was kind of hokey and, if believed, totally proves the existence of aliens, but it was damned fun.

One of the selling points of the recently released The Fourth Kind was its ambiguity. Was it really based on actual news reports about and research into alien abductions in and around Nome, Alaska, or was Hollywood pulling a fast one? According to the legal agreement reached between seven Alaskan newspaper companies and Universal Studios, we're definitely leaning toward the latter.
