Well, if the parents are around, they're likely the ones causing the damages to the chaui station and eating the whales that were found torn on the beach. If Clovey is a baby as Reeves has said more than once, than it's a good chance the parents will come upon it at some time, just not in New York. Clovey was dormant at Coney Island, and the mother (or father) were at the Chaui station wreaking havoc. You have to wonder if they're looking for Clovey, too, OR if they're dead.

Yeah. I wonder if the sequel is going to focus on the military operation to counter the monster as I've heard rumours about, or be about the monster's mother.

    25 million budget

80 million domestic take with 80 million overseas

I do think they consider that a box office success.

It's actually my favorite film of the year so far.

Yeah. I've watched Blair Witch many times and I love it... Cloverfield was a fun ride, but nothing great. I might rent it or buy it when it goes into the $5 Target rack, but other than that - nah!

I didn't hate Cloverfield as much as Ultimo Franco and Messiahman, but it's not something I'd watch more than once... unlike [Rec] or Blair Witch Project you never believe for a second that what you're watching actually is happening.

Really, the whole found footage angle doesn't work for movies about things that are never going to happen.

And guess what, Creepy? We agree again! We both enjoyed "Cloverfield." Shocking, no?

I found two easter eggs so far, and I found that subliminal pictures thing, which was damn cool.

And I keep saying that when it can be proven and not just enforced and insisted as if it were fact, it's simply just a theory. My theory is that it was a curiosity and once the secret got out, people just stood home and waited for the DVD.

Box office monster? IIRC it initially did well but suddenly plummeted because of negative word of mouth, at least that's what I remember reading on the forums.

It instructs me to email my full name and address with the subject "AVPR DVD"
shouldn't it be CLOVERFIELD DVD ?
