Know what was pretty shocking? I totally expected to hate "The Vampire Diaries" but gave it a shot while jonesing for my "Supernatural" fix and ended up getting hooked. Yes, it has all of the elements for the tweener crowd, but people get slaughtered on the show at the drop of a dime! Seemingly everyone is on the menu, and you gotta respect that. Not to mention it had one of the best damned season finales I've seen in forever.
The winners of the Fox Network's 2010 Teen Choice Awards were announced yesterday (with the actual awards show airing tonight, Monday, August 9th, at 8:00-10:00 PM ET/PT), and to say that vampires dominated the event is an understatement. The Twilight Saga movies (both New Moon and Eclipse) scored twelve of the surfboard-shaped trophies while The CW's popular "The Vampire Dairies" took home seven.
Anyone who watched "Dexter" Season Four knows how memorable Courtney Ford can make the characters that she portrays so it should be interesting to see what she does with "Vanessa", a potentially recurring role she's landed on Season Two of "The Vampire Diaries".
Looking for something to help ease you into the weekend? How about preview trailers for the season openers of both "The Vampire Diaries" and "Supernatural" on The CW?
One panel we were really looking forward to at this year's San Diego Comic-Con was "The Vampire Diaries" on Saturday, July 24th; and while the cast and crew who participated were great, most of the questions asked by the fans during the Q&A didn't do much in the way of gleaning info on the upcoming season. Luckily the powers-that-be provided those of us in attendance with a montage clip of the Season 2 premiere, which we have a description of following the session's highlights.
There are quite a few prolific writers in the horror genre ... and then there's The Vampire Diaries scribe L.J. Smith, who recently finished the third chapter of her The Vampire Diaries: The Return trilogy, entitled Midnight, and has also agreed to pen a new trilogy, for which she's already finished the first book, Phantom.
As mentioned at the end of June, "The Vampire Diaries" has added the character of Mason Lockwood, the recently deceased mayor's much younger and cooler brother, and now we know who'll be portraying him: Taylor Kinney of "Fashion House" and "Trauma" fame.
I have to admit I've been missing one of TV's naughtiest bad boys, Damon Salvatore of "The Vampire Diaries", during the show's summer hiatus. Leave it to The CW to fill that void with a new promo featuring Ian Somerhalder as the roguish vamp in question.
One of the MANY cliffhangers at the end of Season One of "The Vampire Diaries" was exactly what type of creature Mayor Lockwood and his son, Tyler, might be. According to executive producer Julie Plec, we'll be finding out soon thanks to the addition of a new cast member to Season Two.
Season One of "The Vampire Diaries" is officially over, and if you're someone who dismissed it as just another teen angst vamp lite offering (trust us, it isn't), August 31st will be your chance to see if you were right or not as that's the day Warner Home Video is releasing the Blu-ray and DVD box sets.
Our man Nomad just reported in from The CW Television Network's Upfront 2010, taking place today in NYC's Madison Square Garden, and along with a little bit of a schedule shift, he also provided us with some insight into the upcoming season for both "The Vampire Diaries" and "Supernatural".
This Thursday is "Founder's Day" on The Vampire Diaries, and in honor of the auspicious occasion (which also happens to be the show's season finale), The CW has provided us with a nice big batch of stills from the episode. You'll find all 13 of the photos below the synopsis, and for more visit The Vampire Diaries' official site.
Everything that's transpired thus far during Season One of The Vampire Diaries has been leading up to one special event: the "Founder's Day" celebration. To make sure you're ready, The CW has provided two webclips of the season finale featuring Jeremy and Elena in one and Jeremy and Damon in the other. It's about time the younger Gilbert had his moment to shine!
Few series have had such a successful first season as The Vampire Diaries has enjoyed. And those of us who have been watching week to week are looking forward to the finale, entitled "Founder's Day", with a great deal of anticipation. Knowing this, The CW has provided a preview of the episode that promises "the fireworks are just the beginning!"
With only two episodes to go in Season 1 of The Vampire Diaries, regular viewers of the show know things are heating up and coming to a head. This week we finally meet "Isobel", and if the two webclips The CW has posted online are any indication, we ain't seen nothing yet!
