Though Larry Fessenden’s Glass Eye Pix just teamed up with Dark Sky to make a series of films (read about it here), those aren’t the only films Pix will be producing in the coming months; Fessenden told Fangoria last night about a new movie they’re making with the Mulberry Street team of Jim Mickle a

Exclusive: Mulberry St. Video Interview!
We’ve been waiting a long, long time to get this one out there, and for that I take full responsibility. But if you’re looking forward to the Horrorfest entry Mulberry St. (review) like you should be, hopefully you’ll admit it was worth the wait.

What Lurks on Mulberry Street?
We recently got word about a new indie movie that just wrapped production and looks cooler than most, which as you know is our only prerequisite for mention on the site. We just want it to be different, damnit, and you’d be amazed how hard that is for most filmmakers to handle.

Mickle, Jim & Damici, Nick (Mulberry Street)
Interview by: Johnny Butane
Back in July I got a chance to see the strange-premised rat monster movie Mulberry Street (review) on the big screen thanks to the badasses at Fantasia. Because I enjoyed the movie so much I counted myself lucky to have seen it on the big screen because, really, what were the chances that it would ever make it to multiplexes?
Apparently the chances were damn good, since Lionsgate had already acquired it and decided it’d be a good idea to add it to the lineup of this year’s After Dark Horrorfest, running this November 9th-19th. Needless to say I was psyched that not only would I see it on the big screen again, but so would thousands of other horror fans!
So I sat down with director Jim Mickle and writer/star Nick Damici to discuss how the flick came to be and how honored they are to be a part of Horrorfest. Hope you dig it, and be sure to check out our on-camera interview with the folks behind the film in Video Dread!
