Actor Peter Weller has made a name for himself as a director on such TV series as “The Strain,” “Under the Dome,” and “Salem,” but of course we know him best as RoboCop, and if you’re a fan of the series, you’ll want to join El Rey Network for a marathon of the full RoboCop trilogy, which kicks off TODAY, May 1st, at 1:30 PM ET/10:30 AM PT.  Read on for the details!

El Rey Network is airing 15 hours of some of the greatest cyberpunk action films of our time, packed with satire, villains, and gore. The RoboCop franchise takes place during the year 2028, when Detroit multinational conglomerate OmniCorp is at the peak of robotic technology. When Alex Murphy – a devoted husband, father, and police officer – gets critically injured in the line of duty, OmniCorp sees this as a chance to build a part-robot, part-human police officer that is the one-and-only RoboCop. However, there is still a man behind the suit who is determined to fight for what is right and what is wrong.

Watch the entire RoboCop trilogy beginning Friday, May 1st, starting at 1:30 PM ET, and concluding on Saturday, May 2nd, at 4:00 AM ET. Begin the afternoon with RoboCop (1987), followed by RoboCop 2 (1990), and culminate with RoboCop 3 (1993).  The line-up will restart at 8:45 PM ET.

The films will air in the following order:

RoboCop (1987) at 1:30 PM ET and 8:45 PM ET
Paul Verhoeven’s original film takes us on a journey of a crime-ridden futuristic Detroit. When a crime-fighting robot development goes all wrong, Omni Consumer Products must seek a way to gain back favor when a terminally wounded cop, Alex Murphy (played by Peter Weller), returns to the force as a powerful cyborg reconstructed with a sheet of steel. However, his new crime fighting abilities makes him a target of supervillain Boddicker (Kurtwood Smith).

RoboCop 2 (1990) at 3:45 PM ET and 11:00 PM ET
In Irvin Kershner’s own rendition, a new narcotic called “Nuke” corrupts the streets after a successful deployment of the Robocop Law Enforcement Unit. Controlled by evil leader Cain (Tom Noonan), the menace grows bigger and bigger, pushing Alex Murphy (Peter Weller) to his limits. After the OCP’s failed attempts to replicate the first successful unit, a corrupt businesswoman (Belinda Bauer) uses Cain as her subject to manifest a new cyborg, ultimately hoping to disparage Robocop.

RoboCop 3 (1993) at 6:30 PM ET and 1:45 AM ET
With the city of Detroit in a state of turmoil and decline, Omni Consumer Products is struggling to create their newest project, Delta City, in hopes to replace the now rotting city. Unfortunately, the inhabitants have no intention in leaving the city, ultimately displeasing the company. OCP decides to force the citizens to abandon their homes by employing a ruthless army to harass and attack them. As an underground resistance ignites, RoboCop (Robert John Burke) must decide where his loyalty lies to save the day once more.
