There’s not a shitload of new information in this, the first “official” word from Rob Zombie on “>Halloween 2, but the recent Fearnet blog posted by Spider, frontman of Powerman 5000 and brother of Mr. Zombie, does have some juicy chunks for those of you chomping at the bit for more.
Zombie confirmed that the first day of shooting will be March 9th, giving him just over two months to prep everything else. Not exactly an ideal situation, especially when location scouting is part of it. ”The last film was shot in South Pasadena and that was a drag,” Zombie explained, ”so this time I actually want to go out of California and find a location that adds more depth, grit and mood to the film. Not sure yet exactly where we are headed, but we are out scouting as we speak.”
He also confirmed that both Tylers, Mane and Bates, would be returning to the sequel (the former as The Shape, the latter as composer) and that Malcolm McDowell and Scout Taylor-Compton were interested in reprising their roles.
So what’s going to set this film apart from Zombie’s first Halloween? ”This sequel will be different than the first film, much like The Devil’s Rejects was different from House of 1000 Corpses.” Should be interesting … keep it here for updates and hit the link above for the full interview!
