Two Important Dates Next Year

2007 has a lot of promise to be a good year for horror, but then I’ve thought that before … For now I’ll keep my pessimism to myself and just say that I hope it turns out as good as it looks now. Two of the more anticipated films of the year have just recently nailed down solid release dates, so perhaps you should take that 2007 “Cutest Puppies” calendar down from the wall and get writing?

The Mist, Frank Darabont’s long-anticipated adaptation of Stephen King’s novella starring Thomas Jane, is set for release on November 21st, 2007 via The Weinstein Company. In recent interviews Darabont has said this would be one of the fastest shoots he’s ever done, but that’s an incredibly quick turnaround.

Additionally, Bloody Disgusting reports that Lionsgate has finally gotten around to correcting the release date that was on the Hostel: Part II (pictured) trailer; Eli Roth’s sick & twisted sequel will be hitting on June 8th, 2007. The film follows a group of girls who wind up getting hostel-ized by some very bored, very rich people. Keep it here for more on both as we learn it!
