Roth’s Grind House Trailer

It’s a wrap for Hostel: Part II (yea Roman numerals!) according to the latest blog posted over on Eli Roth’s MySpace page, but that doesn’t mean the man’s work is done. Post production begins in full force now, and he’s also going to be posting a Hostel: Part II production blog on MTV.com starting sometime next week. Don’t worry, we’ll let you know when.

But that’s not what I wanted to point out to you guys, not really; you see, Roth was one of many hip directors who was asked to shoot a trailer for the upcoming Tarantino/Rodriguez team-up Grind House and he describes it in palm-sweating detail on the blog:

”It’s seriously the most fun I’ve had shooting anything since 7th grade. My friend Jeff came over from Boston and we got to film this thing we’ve been dreaming of shooting since we were 18 years old. Gabe produced it and everyone who was in town made cameos in it. We basically had 2 days to cram in as much sex, violence and silliness as we could, and we just fucking went for it. It was honestly the most fun I’ve ever had shooting anything. Hostel was a blast, as was Hostel Part II, but with the Grind House trailer there were absolutely no rules. No continuity, no character development, just pure unadulterated, unfiltered violence and insanity.”

Now that, my fiends, is what I am talking about. As if you needed more reason to look forward to this goddamn movie, right? Grind House opens across the country on April 6th, 2007; only four short months away!
