Rob Zombie Back for Halloween 2?

Rob Zombie back for Halloween 2? (click for larger image)So the rumor mill keeps on churning concerning Halloween 2, the sequel to Rob Zombie’s re-imagining of the once great franchise; and it seems like RZ could be coming back for another round of Myers madness.

STYD reports today that “an insider phoned in this afternoon exclusively informing that Rob Zombie is going to reprise his duties as director and carry on the new Myers legacy that he forged with Tyler Mane behind the mask.”

I’ll tell you this … while not the biggest fan of last year’s remake, at the very least Zombie saved the franchise from being sent directly to Home Video Only Hell. Wherever he takes the series, I’m sure there will be lots of blood, profanity, nudity, and of course the employment of Frenetic Shaky Cam™ to give viewers that faux out-of-control feeling that I loathe so very much.

Will he reprise his directing duties? Considering he’s got a new album, T-Rex, and the ever elusive The Haunted World of El Superbeasto already on the fire, I cannot say that I’m positive, but stranger things have happened. We hope to find out soon. Filming for Halloween 2 is set to begin in March.

Ohhhhhhkay. Rob Zombie’s Halloween 2. I just don’t know what to say. Which version are they doing a sequel to. Theatrical? Unrated? Workprint? Hell, they should just do a sequel to the unrated version so that they would HAVE to turn Michael into a ghost because his brain is all over his sister’s face. Ghost, zombie, living dead, whatever. Maury and Bustillo’s version would have been better no matter what because their flick INSIDE is my second scariest film of all time. And that’s that.

No, no… you see at the exact same time Laurie fired her gun, Michael held up the turkey he had just bought for Thanksgiving, and she accidently shot that instead!

So you see, all is well in Haddonfield… 😀

If Rob Zombie ever meets Lil’ Jon face to face it will be the end of the world as we know it. The sea will boil, the mountains will crumble, and every living thing will bleed out through the ears.

    Oh, and Halloween still sucks.

    Hey FilmCritic, don’t you mean “Hall-o-ween: Yyyyeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaa-ahhhhhhhhhhh!!” ??

  • Messiahman

Personally, I almost hope he does direct it, just so we’ll get to hear his pathetic excuses for doing so after he stated in multiple interviews how he’d NEVER be involved with a sequel. I’m sure he’ll carp on about how he has new ideas that he just HAS to explore and how he didn’t accomplish everything he wanted with the remake. The same load of horse shit all over again.

It’ll be even more hilarious than how he absurdly backtracked after making statements a few years ago about how he hated remakes and hoped that no one ever remade a classic like HALLOWEEN.

The guy’s a talentless hypocrite and a liar. Dangle a fat paycheck, and he’ll do anything for his corporate masters.

Maybe that’s why Rob sings that word so much. He should have starred in “Yes Man”, not Jim Carrey.

The only good moment in the entire Redneck Halloween was the very end when Laurie in full on scream queen mode, shoots Michael Myers in the face. By having a sequel, it negates the ending. Thus making NOTHING good in Redneck Halloween.

    • PelusaMG

A shot in the face is worth two in the bush!

  • G.D.

I would rather it be straight to video than Rob Zombie’s Halloween Part 2.

  • FilmCritic3000

I propose the sequel be titled “Halloween: Yeah!”.

FilmCritic3000 rules (I give you an imaginary high five, also).

That said, Mr. Zombie, please stop it. The money isn’t worth it.
