We’ve already made you guys aware of the Xbox LIVE series of short films called Horror Meets Comedy, and now comes word that animated action series Bleach and Death Note (both Uncut and English dubbed) are available via LIVE as well. Who’s responsible for this goodness? VIZ Media of course!
For a mere 160 Microsoft Points per episode, anime fans now have the ability to watch these shows on a Download-To-Own (DTO) basis through Xbox LIVE. As Ken Sasaki, Viz’s Vice President of Strategy & Business Development, says, “The combination of the hottest television and movie programming, video gaming, and social networking interaction makes Xbox LIVE a compelling platform to present these smash hit animated dramas. As the convergence of digital technology presents an innovative new way to access and download a wide array of content, we look forward to fans across the United States turning to Xbox LIVE for the latest in online animated programming from VIZ Media.”
As a quick reminder, Death Note depicts the adventures of Light Yagami, an ace student with great prospects whose life is forever changed when he finds the Death Note, a notebook dropped by a rogue Shinigami death god. Any human whose name is written in the notebook dies. Bleach is a hyperkinetic, ghost-busting action series about a 15-year-old named Ichigo Kurosaki who was born with the ability to see ghosts. When his family is attacked by a Hollow – a malevolent lost soul – Ichigo encounters a Soul Reaper and absorbs her powers, thereafter dedicating his life to protecting the innocent and helping tortured souls find peace.
You can find Episodes 1-41 (with more to be added) of Bleach and the complete 37 episodes of Death Note along with Naruto, which has been offered on Xbox LIVE since November 2007. More information is available at the official Xbox LIVE site.
