All right, this is good; Barker’s Midnight Meat Train adaptation is moving forward. Ryuhei Kitamura of Versus and Godzilla: Final Wars fame is attached to direct and now the most important puzzle piece, casting, is underway according to Variety.
Bradley Cooper, who’s mostly remembered as Sidney’s doomed friend from “Alias”, has signed on to play the lead role in Midnight Meat Train, that of a photojournalist on the trail of a serial killer who’s been using New York’s subway system as a killing ground. The truth he finds is much more disturbing than even he though possible.
Quite possibly one of the best stories Barker’s ever written, Meat Train first appeared in his early Books of Blood series and has been in one form of development hell or another seemingly ever since. Filming is set to begin this winter, and Lionsgate is distributing so look for a lot more on this in the coming months!
Hope the train makes it to the station in our forums!
