Martyrs on DVD February 24th!

Martyrs review (click for larger image)Well, you won’t have to wait too much longer to find out if Pascal Laugier is the right choice for the remake of Hellraiser; the boys at Quiet Earth got word today that “>Martyrs is headed for DVD on February 24th, 2009!

No details were available for the release, but the fact that it’s up at some online outlets for pre-order, like HK Flix, is a good sign indeed! Martyrs will be out via Dimension Extreme, which I have to admit has proven itself to be quite a kickass DVD line for us horror freaks.

In case you’ve forgotten, here’s some plot for Martyrs: France. A night at the beginning of the 1970s. Lucie, a little girl missing for over a year, is discovered wandering by the side of a country road. Near catatonic, she can say nothing about what has happened to her. The cops quickly find the place in which she’s been incarcerated – a disused slaughterhouse. Every indication is that she never once left the empty, freezing room in which she was imprisoned. Filthy, starving, dehydrated, the child’s body nonetheless bears no traces of sexual abuse – this was no pedophile abduction, but something far stranger. What happened in that icy room? And how did Lucie escape?

Keep it here for all the DVD details as we gather them!
