Tartan Readies Slaughter Night

Click to see it bigger!I’m really not too sure how this got by us the first time it was announced but apparently, along with Dorm, Shutter, and Taxidermia (which we told you about here), Tartan Films have also nabbed the US rights to the first horror film from Netherlands to get any kind of attention, SL8N8 (aka Slaughter Night).

The story is about a paranormally gift student who enters an old coal mine with some friends and unleashes a satanic killer out for revenge. Though most who have seen it said it’s nothing terribly original, no one argues that it’s a helluva lot of fun. This acquisition is just another example of how Tartan is expanding their horizons outside of the Asian horror fare.

Speaking of which, they’ve also acquired the Korean films Arang, about a serial murder case that seems to be connected to a haunted website, and Cinderella, the story of a plastic surgeon whose clients start offing themselves after going under the knife, exposing a horrible secret.

All three films are scheduled for DVD releases next year, keep it here for updates as we learn ‘em!
