Anchor Bay Takes Us to Dead Space

In this part of space … everyone will hear you scream! That’s because after you’ve had your nerves shattered while playing the upcoming survival horror game, Dead Space, you can pop in the companion film and see how your tale started! Just think — you’ll be able to experience hours of intergalactic fright without ever having to leave your couch!

Dead Space: Downfall (pre-order here) is on its way courtesy of Anchor Bay Home Entertainment and it’s set to drop on October 28th — the same day as Dead Space (pre-order here) the game comes out from the fiendish folks at EA Games. Gotta say this one looks like a winner!

Dead Space: Downfall will be available on both DVD and Blu-ray and according to the press release, here’s what we can expect:

Dead Space: Downfall was produced and animated by Film Roman (“The Simpsons,” “King of the Hill”) – Film Roman and Anchor Bay Entertainment are divisions of Starz Media – and is the first of several planned Film Roman animation projects based on Electronic Arts franchises.

Both the DVD and the Blu-ray will feature a deleted scene, trailers and hidden “cheat” codes for the EA video game. The Blu-ray is a 25GB offering, with 1080p video encoded with AVC. English True HD and DTS-HD tracks are included, along with a Spanish subtitle track. In a first for Anchor Bay Entertainment, a CD soundtrack in MP3 format, presented in Dolby Digital 5.1, can be downloaded via BD Live features, as well as animatics and other Dead Space: Downfall extras. The Blu-ray will also feature a separate standard definition DVD with digital copies for the PC and PlayStation Portable.

Count us in! See you online this Halloween!

  1. I love how they got that “Watch it on your PS3!” sticker slapped on the box. You mean the PS3 is a blue-ray player too? Movie looks good, game looks great, can’t wait for Halloween.
