Steve Wolsh’s Muck will be coming to limited theaters on Friday, March 13, 2015, and then Blu-ray and DVD on March 17th; but right now we’re here to tell you that the next chapter in this now franchise is officially on its way!

From the Press Release:
Writer/Director Steve Wolsh has ensured that more Muck is on the way, surpassing his $250,000 Kickstarter goal and successfully funding the prequel to Muck, his upcoming indie horror feature.

The Muck Kickstarter represents a truly unique effort in the crowd-funding field, having raised over a quarter of a million dollars for the prequel to a film that has yet to even be released. The whopping $266,325 raised puts Wolsh’s Kickstarter among the most successful campaigns ever funded.

Wolsh credits the high level of anticipation for the Muck trilogy to the promise of old-school practical effects without any CGI, combined with his commitment to shooting in 4K Ultra HD.

Under the rallying cry of “Horror Films for Horror Fans,” true horror fanatics came out in droves to support the Muck Kickstarter. The prequel, titled Muck: Feast of Saint Patrick, will see the return of horror legend Kane Hodder, the additions of Playboy’s 2013 and 2014 Playmates of the Year, Raquel Pomplun and Kennedy Summers, as well as the return of many fan-favorites from Muck, whose demise in that middle film of the trilogy of course doesn’t preclude them from another turn in the prequel.

Wolsh left Kickstarter backers with his heartfelt thanks and these words:

“If you know me, you know all I do is work and fight for my film every day. I don’t vacation or sleep. Not because I can’t, but because I don’t want to. Even on tough days when the world is kicking my teeth in, I know there’s nothing I’d rather be doing. To the rest of you, rest assured that day and night I am working and fighting for this film… OUR film.”

The Muck franchise also saw the film crack IMDb’s MovieMeter Top 5000, the release of Anchor Bay Entertainment’s first official theatrical trailer for Muck, the millionth view for an unofficial trailer, and the execution of a highly coordinated marketing campaign vis a vis the Muck Kickstarter, disseminating dozens of targeted messages to more than six million social media followers, “mentally pre-selling” the franchise long before the first Muck movie hits theaters.

Anchor Bay will unleash Muck in theaters on Friday the 13th, March 2015. In Wolsh’s words, the film “unfolds like a blood-stained love letter to true horror fans everywhere.”
