Yeah, but the Blair Witch also had some many other things going on outside of the movie. It had a giant mythos built up that sucked so many in, regardless of end spoilers. Quarantine? Not so much.

Not only are they using the last shot of the movie on the poster and the trailers, but now they’re using it as the loading screen on their website! This sickens me and makes me want to punch out the filmmakers. I’m so glad that I saw [REC] before I saw any of the trailers/posters for Quarantine!

They also seem to be making absolutely NO effort to hide the fact that there are no survivors. Actually, they are plastering it all over everything. Talk about dumb ass marketing.

That makes no sense. “The Blair Witch Project” marketing told everyone that there were no survivors in the movie before the movie actually began. That didn’t hurt its success. But you’re right about every other stupid move.

I do my best to never watch trailers, but now that I’ve seen the original, I went to the web site to check them out. I’m glad to see they’re sticking close to the original, but what the hell are they thinking? They offer a summary of the entire movie, give away every major scare and are thoughtful enough to show the final scene to make sure it won’t be too upsetting when you actually watch the movie. Whatever happened to teasers?
