Well, this one’s a York release, meaning you’ll be lucky if only the ending is weak, and follows a man who goes to investigate a friend’s claim that a ghost drops by his apartment every night at 3AM. Not a bad assortment of flicks for a night of cheap beers and cheap entertainment. Well, a few nights, actually, since there are 8 films in this set. That’s, like, 16 hours of cheesy goodness! Originally released as w?z, which apparently Dimension figured most people wouldn’t understand, this very smart horror film from Tom Shankland is now out under the far lamer title The Killing Gene But a book should not be judged by it’s cover, nor a film by its title, because this sucker is actually quite a good time. The equation that was the film’s moniker is one used to disprove altruism, something that a very sick individual is attempting to do on the streets of New York. A group of kids gather together for their annual camping excursion into the forests of North Carolina. Still with me? Why? It’s a York release! This year, for whatever reason, they fun afoul of a twisted pair of siblings who get off on capturing and torturing their victims. After they’ve broken them mentally and physically, they release them back into the woods to kill or be killed. Sounds like most of my weekends, don’t know why someone would make a movie about it… Buy it here!

Because someone didn’t the a kid’s anesthetic dosage correct, he remains conscious throughout his own heart surgery. Needless to say he’s traumatized by the events, so much so that he sets out to kill a young girl shortly after he’s released. Not the best form of therapy I could think of, but then I’ve never had to feel doctors cutting into my chest before, so who knows.
