Activision Drops Ghostbusters: The Game!

IGN, among many other gaming sites, is reporting that Activision has decided to not publish many of the anticipated titles from its recently acquired Vivendi Games portfolio. Among those dropped from publication are Ghostbusters: The Video Game, BrĂ¼tal Legend, WET, 50 Cent: Blood on the Sand, Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena and World in Conflict: Soviet Assault.

So what titles will the publisher be keeping while dismissing all these big names? The franchise of quality games such as Crash Bandicoot, Spyro The Dragon and Ice Age will be among the living. OH JOY!

To be frank … what the hell, Activision? You’ve honestly got to be kidding me here. Has the casual gaming market gotten so huge that it is no longer safe to publish anything with a demographic over the age of 13?

There’s no doubt in my mind that another publisher will come along and pick up all the gold Activision has dropped, but for right now the future of Ghostbusters is unclear, but at least the game itself has not been cancelled. Click hear and give Activision a piece of your mind!
