Patrick Rea Wins Emmy for Woman's Intuition (part of Heartland Horrors, Volume 1Lawrence, Kansas-based indie director Patrick Rea dropped us a line to let us know his production company SenoReality Pictures recently won a Heartland Regional Emmy Award for the short film “Woman’s Intuition.” The Heartland chapter of the regional Emmy program covers Kansas, Colorado, Oklahoma, Nebraska, and Wyoming.

Patrick’s co-producers were Ryan S. Jones and Josh Robison with Josh and Ryan pulling double-duty as the editor and sound editor, respectively. “Woman’s Intuition”, a nine-minute thriller about a woman who hears a strange noise when danger is close, is part of the Heartland Horrors: Volume 1 (review) anthology. The production was the first collaboration between SenoReality and Free State Studios, also based in Lawrence, and obviously the pairing paid off!

Rea had this to say about the film’s success, “It’s weird [and] kind of surreal. It happened pretty quick.” Ann Niccum, Free States’ production manager, added, “The thrill of winning is huge. We’re trying to build up toward making feature films. This Emmy win absolutely helps us do that.

If you’re a regular reader of the site, you know that not only do we host a few of Patrick’s other shorts, but he also put together one of our promo spots. You can view them all in our Video Dread section, where we’ll be premiering Rea’s latest once it’s complete.

We couldn’t be happier for Patrick and SenoReality and predict this is just the first of many awards to come their way.
