Freddy vs. Jason Gets Its Own NES Game

Whether you loved Freddy vs. Jason or you hated it, you must at least admit that a video game based on the movie would be pretty awesome. Over a decade later, one has finally arrived, though it’s not quite the game you might be expecting!

Thanks to a hardcore fan with a whole lot of time on his hands, Freddy vs. Jason is now available for purchase as a fully playable Nintendo game. Essentially, the fan hacked the infamous Friday the 13th NES game, infusing Freddy Krueger into the mix. Instead of being a counselor, you are Freddy, tasked with hunting down Jason and slaughtering camp counselors along the way.

In 1989, both Friday the 13th and A Nightmare on Elm Street were turned into their very own Nintendo games, both of which have experienced a big time resurgence over the course of the past year. This clever hack mashes the two games together, just as the filmmakers behind Freddy vs. Jason combined the two top horror franchises.

The Freddy vs. Jason NES cartridge can be yours for $40, available exclusively through Flashback Entertainment. It’s likely that limited quantities are available, so don’t miss out on owning this ultimate dream game.

While you wait for the cartridge to arrive on your doorstep, check out some footage of the gameplay below!
