Burton Finds His Alice

MIa Wasikowska joins Alice in WonderlandTim Burton’s search for a girl to put through the looking glass has finally come to an end. According to THR this morning, Australian actress Mia Wasikowska has been cast in Burton’s re-telling of Lewis Carroll’s classic Alice in Wonderland.

How much horror appeal the adaptation will have is up in the air right now, but it is Burton and it is some twisted source material so something tells me we’ll be covering this one pretty closely. Alice in Wonderland will be a combination of live-action and performance-capture footage and will be, of course, Disney 3-D.

Shooting is expected to get underway in November; will be interesting to see what more cast are added between then and now.

Mia was absolutely amazing in In Treatment — excellent choice!

I’m kinda excited about this, but in a guarded way. I tend to be polarized in my views of Burton’s films, either really liking them or I can’t stand them at all.
