New Writer to Pen Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark

It’s been a long time since last we heard anything about CBS Films’ adaptation of the much beloved book Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark, which at one point had Marcus Dunstan and Patrick Melton on board to adapt. Things have changed.
Deadline is now reporting that CBS Films has tapped BAFTA-nominated writer John August (Big Fish, Frankenweenie, GO) to adapt the iconic book series by Alvin Schwartz.

Sean Daniel and Jason Brown of Sean Daniel Company and Elizabeth Grave of 1212 Entertainment are producing while Roberto Grande and Joshua Long will executive produce. Mark Ross and Alex Ginno are overseeing for CBS Films.
