Michael Emanuel Creates Maneaters and Wendigos

Michael Emanuel (“ER”) has teamed up with “Guilty or Innocent?” scribe John K. Anderson to tackle an old Native American legend we don’t see too much of in films today, the Wendigo!
According to THR, Mr. Emanuel will also be making this project, titled Maneater, his first directorial effort in conjunction with Canal Street Films. Maneater follows the path of a former FBI profiler who is making ends meet as a sheriff in a small town. While investigating a rash of murders, the lawman uncovers that the very thing committing these atrocities may in fact be himself!
Michael Emanuel explained his influence for the film’s subject, which came about some 30+ years ago, “It’s a story that was told to me by an old Native American back in the late ’70s. It’s based on the Western Ojibwa (Chippewa) legend of the Wendigo.”
