Michael Green Hired to Rewrite the Prometheus Sequel

It was late October when we last heard anything about the Prometheus sequel, but today word has come that a (re)writer has been found to polish the script along with a few other details about what we might be seeing in it.

Per The Wrap, after working with Ridley Scott on a new Blade Runner movie, Michael Green (“Smallville,” “Heroes,” Green Lantern) has been hired to rewrite Prometheus 2 for 20th Century Fox. Jack Paglen (Transcendence) wrote the original draft of the screenplay.

In addition, multiple sources told the site that the “Untitled Ridley Scott Project” 20th Century Fox announced it will release in March of 2016 is Prometheus 2 (unofficial title). Production could start as early as this fall, and the sequel will apparently be much more “Alien-y” and in line with the terrifying tone of past films in the franchise.

Additionally, the sequel is expected to feature multiple “David” androids (portrayed by Michael Fassbender).

Scott will produce again through his Scott Free banner though it’s unknown at this time if he will direct. Original star Noomi Rapace is also expected to return.

In the original film: Archeologist couple Elizabeth Shaw (Rapace) and Charlie Holloway (Logan Marshall-Green) discover a star map that they interpret as an invitation from humanity’s forerunners, the “Engineers.” Determined to find out more about them, the couple board the scientific vessel Prometheus, created and funded by Peter Weyland (Guy Pearce), CEO of Weyland Corporation. Lead by mission director Meredith Vickers (Charlize Theron) and monitored by Weyland’s android David (Fassbender), the team of explorers find a clue to the origins of mankind on Earth and embark on a thrilling journey to the darkest corners of the universe, where they fight a terrifying battle to save the future of the human race.
