New Alien: Isolation Video Creates the Creature

New Alien: Isolation Video Creates the CreatureIt's really hard to not get excited about Alien: Isolation, if only because it really seems to be the Alien game that we all want to play. Still, Sega has disappointed in the past so our expectations are pretty tempered. That being said, wow, does this latest video make us drool!

From the Press Release
The latest Alien: Isolation trailer goes behind the scenes in the studio, talking to the team creating the Alien. Terrifying, unstoppable and totally unique, this is an enemy you need to avoid at all costs.

He’s hunting you, using his senses, his instincts, to hunt you down and kill you. He’s intelligent, unpredictable, and extremely dangerous; and nowhere is safe.

Alien: Isolation is a first-person survival horror game capturing the fear and tension evoked by Ridley Scott’s 1979 classic film. Players find themselves in an atmosphere of constant dread and mortal danger as an unpredictable, ruthless Xenomorph is stalking and killing deep in the shadows. Underpowered and underprepared, you must scavenge resources, improvise solutions, and use your wits, not just to succeed in your mission, but to simply stay alive. Alien: Isolation will be available in late 2014 for the PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system, PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system, Xbox One, the all-in-one games and entertainment system from Microsoft, the Xbox 360 games and entertainment system from Microsoft, and Windows PC.

Game Description
Developed by Creative Assembly, creator of the award-winning Total War strategy series, Alien: Isolation pits players against the deadliest killer in the Universe 15 years after the events of Alien. Set in an atmosphere of constant dread and mortal danger, the game focuses on Ellen Ripley’s daughter, Amanda, who enters a desperate battle for survival as she tries to unravel the truth behind her mother’s disappearance.

As Amanda, you will navigate through an increasingly volatile world as you find yourself confronted on all sides by a panicked, desperate population and an unpredictable, ruthless Alien.

Key Features:
Overcome an ever-present deadly threat – Experience persistent fear as a truly dynamic and reactive Alien uses its senses to hunt you down and respond to your every move.

Improvise to survive – Hack systems, scavenge for vital resources, and craft items to deal with each situation. Will you evade your enemies, distract them, or face them head on?

Explore a world of mystery and betrayal – Immerse yourself in the detailed setting of Sevastopol, a decommissioned trading station on the fringes of space. Encounter a rich cast of inhabitants in a world scarred by fear and mistrust.

I'm not drinking SEGA'S KOOLAID after that last Aliens game, they've lost me!

Same here. Remember how pumped we were for Colonial Marines? It looked sooo good. I am not even remotely interested in this. And I LOVE me some Aliens.

Colonial Marines sucked because Gearbox outsourced it to other developers to finish the game.

This is a different developer entirely. I'm stoked!

Oh I'm fully aware of the fiasco behind CM. Still, I'd keep my expectations in check if I were you. The alien franchise is cursed and we haven't had a good Alien game in a loong time. If you want a good survive-in-space-with-an-alien-stalking-you game, go play Enemy Zero.

Enemy Zero? The Sega Saturn game? We're cut from the same cloth. You should send me some friend requests on either system or both.
