NEXT STORY

"The Following" features some of the dumbest cops and federal agents on TV today. Every episode, the writers make them do three or four stupid things that allow the bad guys to get away. In the last episode I watched, cops had two guns vs. Lily and her son with one gun. The cops then proceeded to throw their guns away. Ryan Hardy even lost a suspect because she yelled "help, he's got a gun" and Hardy was too stupid to yell "I'm a cop!" He even broke into a woman's house, tied her up, and stuck her in a closet rather than simply telling her he was with the police. I know he's not still with the police, but the writers apparently picked that as the one continuity point that they're actually paying attention to.

Yep, it's the downfall of the show for sure. Most everything else this season has been pretty interesting - Lily and the twins, Joe killing again, and now this new cult - but the stupidity factor keeps rearing its ugly head. But then again, I'm not sure how they would have a show if the FBI were competent. And sadly, Those Who Kill seems to be following the same M.O. In the first episode the cops did some really lame-brain things, too. Or it could just be that everything pales in comparison to Hannibal and True Detective right now.

Yes! I watched the premiere of Those Who Kill last week and thought the same thing.

Another dumb cop move in the last "The Following" - they were being chased in the woods by a killer called "the huntsman," and they ran around yelling, shining flashlights, and standing in a clearing in plain view where he could easily shoot them.
