Dark Tower Adaptation No Closer to Finding Its Way in Front of CamerasIf it weren’t for bad news about the long-awaited adaptation of Stephen King’s series The Dark Tower, I’m afraid we wouldn’t have any news at all to report about it. Read on for the latest bit of non-news.

In an interview with Collider, producer Akiva Goldsman shed some light on the status of the project, essentially confirming what director Ron Howard said at the tail end of last year: The movie is still on the table, but it’s nevertheless a long ways off.

It’s not officially back on and we will never let it go – until Stephen takes it away from us,” said Goldsman with a laugh.

He also went on to say that no casting decisions have been made, nor have talks even officially begun in regards to who will potentially play what roles.

Seems all we can really do is sit back and hope that the adaptation happens before we’re all too old to enjoy it!

The story centers around gunslinger Roland Deschain and his quest to travel through a Western-style world woven with magic to find the Dark Tower, mankind’s only hope.
