Rupert Sanders Will Direct Live-Action Ghost in the Shell
It was way back in 2008 that DreamWorks acquired the rights to Ghost in the Shell, intent on producing a live-action feature film adaptation of the popular manga series. Six years later, a director has finally come on board. Read on for details!
As per Deadline, Snow White and the Huntsman director Rupert Sanders will helm the adaptation for DreamWorks, which was scripted by William Wheeler.
Created by Masamune Shirow, Ghost in the Shell was first published in 1989 by Kodansha, one of the largest publishing companies in Japan. The story follows the exploits of a member of a covert ops unit of the Japanese National Public Safety Commission that specializes in fighting technology-related crime.
The film is being produced by Avi Arad, Ari Arad, and Steven Paul.
