Luke Evans Follows The Crow Closely

Luke Evans Follows The Crow CloselyThe remake of The Crow is perched and nearly ready to go, and as a means to quell some fan hesitation, Red Carpet News caught up with the new Eric Draven himself, Luke Evans, to find out what fans can expect!

“Well, we just want to be as authentic and loyal to the original comic as possible, and that means the story will be different,” says Evans.

“It’ll be different from what people are expecting. It’s not about us ripping off the Brandon Lee movie; that stands alone as a brilliant piece of cult film and a great performance, but we’re going back to the book, the original book. And that’s exciting because we’re bringing to the screen a lot of parts of the story that were never really told. So yeah, it’s our chance to do it, to do it differently, but to be as loyal and respectful of the original storyline as we possibly can.”

In terms of the look of the character and makeup usage:

“It’ll be interesting, won’t it, to do that? I don’t know how it will feel; I’ve yet to think about that too much. I’m just prepping; it’s all very physical at the moment.”

The film is being produced by Ed Pressman, Kevin Misher, Relativity’s CEO Ryan Kavanaugh, and Jeff Most. Exec producers include Relativity’s president Tucker Tooley, The Weinstein Co.’s Harvey and Bob Weinstein, and Farah Films’ Dan Farah. F. Javier Gutiérrez is at the helm.

Look for more soon.

I still remember seeing original in theater and grinning ear to ear realizing i was taking in a Classic!!! Too bad about Lee just wonder if things didn't happen like they did if this would have been a great franchise, without him the followups have been duds.

I keep saying there's still material to be mined here. The movie is only 20 percent faithful to the graphic novel.
