I can’t deny that I’m pretty excited to see what first-time director David Hackl does with his first entry in the Saw series, Saw V. I really enjoyed the fourth one a lot more than the rest, and I hope that’s an indication of a series upswing.
Saw V starlet Betsy Russell, who reprises her role as Jigsaw’s estranged wife in the sequel, updated the Fango fiends on the film’s status, confirming that editing is going down night and day. ”[They] already have a first cut and are really happy; [I’m told that] it flows very smoothly,” she revealed to the mag. ”I’ve seen one scene cut together that was pretty amazing.”
Russell also confirmed that she’ll be making genre show appearances to help get the word out for the film (right, cause it needs more hype…), but was nonspecific as to which shows she’d be at. Though she did say there were some Saw conventions coming up, which we’ll be looking into…
Lionsgate hasn’t released an official plot for Saw V yet, but plan on knowing it sometime between now and when the film is out on October 24th.
