Mummy 3 Trailer is Here!

New Mummy 3 poster! Is it a good idea to hand over the Mummy franchise to a director known mainly for his movies about fast cars? We shall find out when The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor hits on August 1st, 2008. But now we can have a taste…

Regular reader “Hunter” just gave us a heads-up that MSN Movies has the exclusive first look at the Mummy 3 teaser trailer, so if you’re at all interested in what this one’s gonna look like, now’s the time to check it out.

The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor reunites us with explorer Rick O’Connell (Brendan Fraser) as he fights back an ancient Chinese mummy (Jet Li) who was accidentally awakened by his own son. Luckily it still takes place in the early 20th Century, so the kid can’t be given a time out as punishment. Instead he gets to fight alongside his family.

Keep it here for more Mummy updates soon!

It definitely looks a hell of a lot more entertaining than anything in THE MUMMY RETURNS.

Sorry I like The other two Mummy films and will see this one. It looks good The cgi might get cleaned up soon on the Yeti I think it is But other than that it carries the humor of the first two. I’m a fan of STephen Sommers since Deep Rising( too bad Van helsing was so muddled, I think too many monsters, vampires in the daylight even though theres a cloud covering the sun—They must have been really hungry), and this looks to carry his touch although Rob Cohen is directing. By the way Rob Cohen has directed some good films(Dragon and Dragonheart, I will not even mention the crapfest though of Stealth). I enjoyed the old Mummy films and a huge fan of them(talkin about the Universal Classics) and I think the newer films carry on the fun of the old ones-, but to be honest I think the newer Mummy films are heavily by one single mummy film The Mummys Hand- which was a pretty good flick, the humor and the almost sense of adventure is there and it just seems the New Mummy films take from that film the most. Anyone else think this?

    I’ll… pass.

I’m pretty sure they did the same thing with TRANSFORMERS, saying “A Michael Bay Film” after the title hit the screen…

Love the “A Rob Cohen Film” card, like someone out there gives a flying fuck. Somebody forgot to tell that hack that you have to EARN a title card like that.

Saw this earlier today. Aside from a couple instances of half-ass CGI, it looks surprisingly good. Being an unabashed fan of the first two films, you can bet my ass is going to be planted in a theater when this thing opens.

Well, good to see that even though Stephen Sommers is no longer with the franchise, his brand of braindead humor carries on.

Still, that didn’t look too bad. I’d almost be excited if it weren’t for the fact that Rob Cohen’s directing it.
