Milam Goes Rogue

Universal’s genre-specific arm Rogue Pictures, the one that I’m sure would be covered in a full sleeve of tattoos if it were an actual, physical arm, has just signed on Scott Milam to pen two new horror scripts for the studio, neither of which is a sequel or a remake! We hope.

The first is an untitled scare fest about a carnival that employs some truly terrifying sideshow freaks and other carnie-themed horrors. The second is a film to be named later, Milam apparently making himself so desirable to Rogue that they didn’t even need a script treatment to agree to a second film.

Milam, you may recall, is the penner behind Darren (Saw II, Saw III) Bousman’s next film, Wichita, about which very little is known other than that it’s based in reality and tells a story of things going from very bad to much, much worse. Rogue is really flexing its muscles as of late with the recent announcement of a deal with Wes Craven’s Midnight Pictures and now this. I just hope they keep the quality up!
