I know most of you have not seen “>Closet Space (review) yet, and for that I’m sorry. As indie movies go, it’s one of the best ones out there right now, as is evident by its recent inclusion in this years RioFan festival, going down in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil. Today we learned that director Mel House is moving forward with his next project, and it sounds like it’ll be a big one.
The film is called Walking Distance and, according the latest post on House’s MySpace page, it will be “a huge leap forward for Upstart Filmworks”, his production company. I wish I could give you guys more on what it will be about, but House is keeping those cards very close to his chest right now.
What I can tell you is that Reggie Bannister (Phantasm) and Debbie Rochon have both just landed roles in the film, playing characters named Joseph Webber and Marie Gray, respectively. Always a good thing when you can get the Reg-man involved with your shoot, and Rochon sure as hell doesn’t hurt either.
Effects will once again be handled by Marcus Koch and his Oddtopsy FX team, and Stacy Davidson (Domain of the Damned, Sweatshop) will serve as Visual Effects Coordinator. Apparently there’s going to be a lot of green screen stuff in Walking Distance, which makes me even more curious about it…
We’ll hopefully have more for you very soon so keep it here!
