RoboCop to Shoot Up the IMAX in February
Good news for those of you out there looking forward to the RoboCop reboot as Sony has announced that it will be digitally re-mastered into the immersive IMAX format and released into IMAX theatres worldwide beginning February 7th.
Jose Padilha's film stars Joel Kinnaman as the title hero plus Samuel L. Jackson, Gary Oldman, Jay Baruchel, Michael Keaton, Michael Kenneth Williams, Marianne Jean-Baptiste, Abbie Cornish, Aimee Garcia, and Jackie Earle Haley.
The IMAX release of RoboCop will be digitally re-mastered into the image and sound quality of The IMAX Experience with proprietary IMAX DMR (Digital Media Remastering) technology. The crystal-clear images, coupled with IMAX’s customized theatre geometry and powerful digital audio, create a unique environment that will make audiences feel as if they are in the movie.

Currently RoboCop has a release date of February 7, 2014.
In RoboCop the year is 2029, and multinational conglomerate OmniCorp is at the center of robot technology. Their drones are winning American wars around the globe, and now they want to bring this technology to the home front.
