WER One-Sheet Taps You On the Shoulder

Wer One-Sheet Taps You On the ShoulderThe first one-sheet has arrived for the new flick from the makers of the much reviled film The Devil Inside, entitled WER, and we have it for you right here, free of ticks, fleas, and any other pests that bother things with fur.

A.J. Cook ("Criminal Minds"), Simon Quarterman (The Devil Inside), Vik Sahay ("Chuck") and Brian J. O’Connor (Epic Movie) to round out the main cast of the werewolf flick being directed by William Brent Bell (The Devil Inside).

Steven Schneider, producer of The Devil Inside, The Tall Man and the Paranormal Activity films, is producing the film with Matthew Peterman (who wrote the screenplay) and Morris Paulson through their production company Prototype. Robert Hall and his newly re-branded Almost Human Inc. is tackling the makeup and visual effects for WER.

The flick tells the story of a defense attorney named Kate Moore (A.J. Cook) who has set out to clear the name of a suspect in a brutal murder case. The lead, Talan, is accused of murdering an American family. While Talan appears to be gentle on the surface, his attorney soon learns that Talan is actually a werewolf.

More as it comes.

I wonder if the filmmakers actually considered that by shortening "werewolf" to "Wer" that the title of the movie is now just "Man" ('werewulf' or 'werwulf' in Anglo-Saxon being literally "man-wolf"). This might suggest that the movie will actually deal with the humanity of monsters instead of the typical human savagery angle of most werewolf movies; they did enough homework at least to use the proper declension of 'wer'. It could also just be the tendency of Hollywood to shorten all titles as much as possible and that the movie will be as uninteresting as the description makes it sound. Unfortunately I have to assume the latter until I see evidence of the former.

Umm marketing your film as "From the Filmmakers of The Devil Inside" seems very counterproductive.
