Tyler James Williams Cast as Mystery Character in The Walking Dead

The fifth season of “The Walking Dead” kicks off in a little over two weeks, and ahead of that premiere we’ve just learned that a new face has joined the cast. The role, however, is being shrouded in secrecy. Read on for the news and our speculation!
THR reports that the zombie drama has recruited “Go On” and “Everybody Hates Chris” alum Tyler James Williams (pictured), only revealing that he’ll be playing a character named Noah. For now it’s unclear which episode Williams will make his debut in or if he’ll be around in a guest, recurring, or regular capacity.
Williams joins a swelling cast that includes “Wire” alum Seth Gilliam as comics character Father Gabriel and new series regulars Andrew J. West (Terminus baddie Gareth), Alanna Masterson (Tara), and Christian Serratos (Rosita).
There are no characters named Noah in Robert Kirkman’s Walking Dead comic books, and so it’s impossible to know anything about the character. That said, there is a character named Noah Cruz in the Walking Dead: Survival Instinct video game, which served as a prequel to the series. Noah’s storyline intersects with Daryl’s on several occasions.
Could “The Walking Dead” be bringing in characters from the video game worlds, or is Williams’ Noah completely different from Survival Instinct’s Noah? I suppose only time will tell!
