The boys at JoBlo have been doing some digging of their own to find out what’s going on with the upcoming sequel to The Hills Have Eyes and have come upon a scooper who was more than willing to share all sorts of goodies. After hours and hours of torture, I’m sure.
First and foremost, the official synopsis being sent out for casting purposes was handed over to them, and though it’s nothing you’ve probably not read before, this one is official, damnit, so pay attention. “A team of National Guard cadets stops over at a desert outpost to deliver equipment to some military scientists. They arrive at the research camp to find it mysteriously deserted. Hearing a distress call on their walkies, they set off on what they think is a simple rescue mission into the hills – only to find a tribe of mutants, damaged by nuclear testing, who lie in wait for them…”
Ah, yes, mutants. You may recall the news we told you about previously that Michael Bailey Smith would be returning for the sequel, this time as the mutant leader, but JoBlo also learned that that role has yet to be cast, so who knows what that means.
Hit the JoBlo link above to also see a breakdown of the lead mutants as well, and see if you don’t notice a … we’ll call it a size pattern. Shooting on The Hills Have Eyes 2 starts in Morocco on September 4th under the direction of music video helmer Martin Weisz.
