Christina Hendricks Ventures Into Dark Places
The cast list for the upcoming thriller Dark Places keeps getting more and more impressive, as yet another big name actor has just been added to the mix. Read on for the latest!
Deadline reports that "Mad Men" star Christina Hendricks has signed on for a role. Hendricks will play the older Krissi Cates character in the film. Krissi has been haunted by a secret from her past that could have great implications for Charlize Theron’s Libby Day character and her jailed brother, Ben (Corey Stoll). In the book, Krissi is a barely-getting-by stripper who had accused Ben decades before of being a child molester and some other very serious misdeeds.
Chloe Moretz, Nicholas Hoult and Sterling Jerins also star with Gilles Paquet-Brenner set to write direct the adaptation of the 2009 Gillian Flynn book.
Flynn's novel Dark Places was published in 2009 and was listed on the New York Times Best Seller List for more than 25 weeks. The book was also shortlisted for the Crime Writers’ Association Ian Fleming Steel Dagger Award and won the Dark Scribe Magazine Black Quill Award for Dark Genre Novel of the Year.
