Exclusive Cast Update – Writer/Actress Jamie Bernadette Talks The 6th Friend

Another entry in the slasher genre is gearing up for principal photography, and we caught up with The 6th Friend writer and actress Jamie Bernadette to get an update on the “party gone awry” flick. Read on!
Scripted by Bernadette (pictured; who also stars), the feature film The 6th Friend (which we first reported on here) is slated to commence principal photography in Southern California this October, with an eye for a 2014 release. Directed by Letia Clouston and executive produced by Sommer Leigh Studios’ Lyle Albers, the production has now additionally nabbed the acting talents of Dominique Swain (Alpha Dog, Lolita), Jessica Morris (Reel Evil), Chantelle Albers (Axeman at Cutter’s Creek), Sadie Katz (House of Bad) and Theresa June-Tao (Battle of Los Angeles).
Speaking exclusively with Dread Central, Bernadette stated of the cast, “I am thrilled. I worked with Chantelle Albers in Axeman at Cutter’s Creek, and I saw how talented she is, and we hit it off so well that we decided to produce The 6th Friend together. I also worked with Jessica Morris in Reel Evil and this past summer with Theresa June Tao in the horror feature film Mile Marker Seven. Both of them are so talented. Sadie Katz and I are scheduled to work in Jim Towns’ horror film 13 Girls together, and I am very familiar with her work from House of Bad and Nipples and Palm Trees. In both her performance is stellar.”
As for Swain, “I have always been very familiar with her, ever since I saw her in Lolita years ago, and she has continued to do very impressive work,” offered Bernadette. “We presented the script to her and she absolutely loved it, and she wanted to come on board! We were thrilled to have such a great talent join us, and she is perfect for the bubbly, comedic role of ‘Heather’. Lyle (Albers) couldn’t be more thrilled with the cast that we have put together, and neither could Chantelle and I.”
Commented director Clouston (via the official PR), “This is an exciting opportunity to work with these six accomplished actresses and see the dynamic unfold onscreen. The film will open with a shocking beginning and then lead the audience through a bloody trail of suspense and terror.”
