Synopsis
In the near future, a hostile alien race called the Formics have attacked Earth. If not for the legendary heroics of International Fleet Commander Mazer Rackham (Ben Kingsley), all would have been lost. In preparation for the next attack, the highly esteemed Colonel Hyrum Graff (Harrison Ford) and the International Military are training only the best young minds to find the future Mazer.

Ender Wiggin (Asa Butterfield), a shy but strategically brilliant boy, is recruited to join the elite. Arriving at Battle School, Ender quickly and easily masters increasingly difficult challenges and simulations, distinguishing himself and winning respect amongst his peers. Ender is soon ordained by Graff as the military's next great hope, resulting in his promotion to Command School. Once there, he's trained by Mazer Rackham himself to lead his fellow soldiers into an epic battle that will determine the future of Earth and save the human race.

NEXT STORY

All this is about is MONEY. Card's hatred of gays and lesbians goes back decades. He's also called for the overthrow of this government if it allows gays and lesbians to marry. There's no taking that back. Ender's Game, though, is a very creepy story: naked little boys killing each other. Aliens called Buggers. (Norman Spinrad has long ago pointed out the homosexual implications of Ender's Game, whether Card intended them or not.) It's a terrible book about bullies creating bullies. I won't see it; I won't give Card another dime of my money or waste my time on his bile.

I guess he's called Mazer Rackham because it sounds like "laser" and he racks 'em up, kill-wise? He's the Muslim O'Gun-Bomb of sci-fi!

...and why would you want to separate the image from the "homophobic hoopla"? I think critics have a valid argument against this movie, based on a work by a seemingly hateful, ugly man. Someone who is against homosexuals is conservative. Someone who wishes to criminalize homosexuality is fascist, for lack of a better word. Why would you want to support and fund a person through making this film a success whose ideals are so abhorrent? At the very least, the criticism deserves to be heard, not silenced or downplayed.

Never said I wanted to separate it. It should be known. If I truly did I wouldn't have mentioned it at all. See what I did there? It's called being a stinker! :)
